As winter tightens its grip, the boats here are safely tucked away, shielded from Mr. Frost. It’s the perfect moment to reflect on an incredible 2024 season. Let’s take a look back at the highlights and share some exciting news for the new year.

Yard Updates

In Aftersales Nina von Bergen is now well settled as our new Aftersales Manager, succeeding our esteemed colleague Jørn Olesen, who has retired. Nina, a passionate sailor herself, is committed to supporting the Dragonfly fleet worldwide, backed by our dedicated team at the yard.

Winter Preparation Reminder: Be sure to place your orders with our Aftersales team early this winter. Spring is always a hectic time, and advance planning ensures we can meet your needs in time. Thank you for helping us keep everything shipshape!

Boat Shows

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who visited us at boat shows across Europe, UK, US, and the Middle East this year. Highlights included:

Dragonfly Days 2024

Our 5th Dragonfly Days owners event in August brought together 35 Dragonfly Trimarans and 110 participants from 12 countries. Despite challenging weather, with strong winds, the event was a resounding success, featuring a packed three-day program of sailing and socializing.

Looking ahead, Dragonfly Days will take place again in 2027, marking 60 years of Quorning Boats and Dragonfly Trimarans. We can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with you.

Introducing the Dragonfly 36

After more than two years of development, we proudly popped the Champagne and unveiled the new DRAGONFLY 36 Performance Cruiser during Dragonfly Days in August. This exciting new Dragonfly Trimaran will make its World Premiere at BOOT Düsseldorf in January 2025. The official presentation is scheduled for 1:00 PM on January 18th.

The demand for this model has been exceptional, with the next available build slot being hull No. 20, set for Autumn 2026. We look forward to welcoming you in Hall 16, at stand 16D39 where the DRAGONFLY 36 will be showcased alongside the DRAGONFLY 28 Performance and the DRAGONFLY 40C Performance.

Racing Achievements

On the racing scene in 2024 we have a few highlights to mention:

• MOCRA Triple Trophy: Mr. Mark Atkinson claimed victory in his DRAGONFLY 40 Ultimate in the multihull class during the Round the Island Race, conquering gusts of +45 knots. Congratulations, Mark!

• Silverrudder: The worlds largest single-handed race with more than 400 entries. This prestigious race saw in 2024 21 multihull entries, with over half being Dragonfly Trimarans. Notably, the DRAGONFLY 40 "Triple Star" achieved the overall fastest time, completing the course in 21 hours and 51 minutes under tricky wind conditions. Three Dragonfly Trimarans secured spots in the top five across the Small and Large multihull classes.

A New Chapter

As part of incorporating the next generation here at the yard, we are thrilled to announce that my son, Peter, has been promoted to Executive Vice President. This feels good and we are all happy as Peter’s involvement marks an exciting step forward as we steer Dragonfly into the future together.

I want to say thank you to all our dealers and representatives for the great effort in selling and servicing our Dragonfly clients worldwide – Representing us at various boat shows, helping us to inspire new clients to get on board our fantastic Dragonfly community.

Thank you to our Dragonfly team and the staff here at the yard, everybody has worked hard to develop and manufacture the new Dragonfly´s that were “born” this year and delivered to happy new owners around the world. Also, a great thank you to our partners and suppliers for delivering all the quality products that we build into the Dragonfly range.

Thank you to all you Dragonfly owner´s, family and crew, who support us to show Dragonfly on the water and on the roads around the globe, you are all the best ambassadors we can imagine – Thank you.

We hope to see you at BOOT Düsseldorf in January, where we will celebrate the World Premiere of the new DRAGONFLY 36 and kick off the 2025 season in style.
