Dear Dragonfly owners, sailors and friends,
as the days grow shorter and colder, it’s the perfect time to reflect on an incredible 2025 season in the Dragonfly universe. What a year it has been!

Yard News
This season has been one of the busiest and most exciting in our history, thanks to the launch of our newest family member – the Dragonfly 36.

  • Official Launch: The Dragonfly 36 made its debut at boot Düsseldorf in January. Even before the show, 17 boats were sold – a testament to the anticipation surrounding this model after more than three years of development.

  • Overwhelming Response: The Dragonfly 36 quickly became the star of the show, drawing crowds every day. The press loved it too – we’ve never had so much media attention! The Dragonfly 36 graced the covers of Die Yacht, Yachting World, Multihull Magazine, and Baadmagasinet, accompanied by in-depth reviews and strong social media buzz.

  • Awards & Nominations:

    • Winner of Multihull of the Year in the Sail Performance category at the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte in April.

    • Nominated for European Yacht of the Year in the 10–12 m category – winner to be announced at boot Düsseldorf in January 2026.

    • Nominated for Boat of the Year in USA by Cruising World and Sailing World in – winners to be announced at the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show in 2026.

Demand has exceeded all expectations: the next available Dragonfly 36 is Hull No. 37 for delivery in January 2028 – a new record for Dragonfly!

Currently, Hull No. 6 has just launched in Dubai, and Hulls 11–14 are in assembly. The rest of the Dragonfly Range are also sold out until the end of 2027. While this is great news for us, we know the long wait can be challenging for clients.

Facility Expansion
We’ve expanded significantly this year:

  • Added 4,600 m² of indoor storage and 8,500 m² of land area by taking over neighboring winter storage facilities.

  • Opened a new rigging and mast shop with double capacity, freeing space for our beloved wood shop.

Racing Highlights
Dragonfly owners made waves in races worldwide:

  • Midsummer Sail (Baltic): Dragonfly 40C Performance Flying Dragon, sailed by Jens Thuesen, Tor Beltorv and myself, was "First Ship Home" – and the first multihull ever to cross the line first! Unfortunately the weather conditions was not in our favor for a new record. The sailed distance is about 1.000 NM.

  • Round the Island Race: A Dragonfly 25 Sport sailed by Al Wood and Kevin Sproul, finished in 6 hours and 1 minute, the Dragonfly 25 Sport secured 4th place in the MOCRA class on corrected timed and was the first Dragonfly to cross the finish line. This also marks the fastest race time for a Dragonfly 25.

  • Garmin Round Denmark Race: Dragonfly 28 Sport Elmo, sailed by Brian K. Nielsen and his partner Dorte, completed the 680 NM Inshore course in 116 hours and 36 minutes – impressive for a first-time entry.

  • Silverrudder: The biggest single-handed race in the world with more than 400 entries, whereas 22 multihulls participated, half of them Dragonfly Trimarans. Dragonfly 28 Lanzelot, sailed by Jacob Drud, placed 2nd and Elmo, sailed by Brian K. Nielsen placed 3rd in the Multihull Large class.

  • Fastnet Race: First-ever Dragonfly entry by Xavier Bouin in his Dragonfly 40C Performance – There was no ambition for fast sailing but to get the experience well done.

Dragonfly Trimarans and UAE
My wife Lene and I have just returned from a trip to Dubai to visit our UAE Dealer at Tan Services and their team. It was a great pleasure to meet the whole team.

During our visit we did some local racing and also a race from Dubai to Abu Dhabi with a smaller fleet of Dragonfly Trimarans.

There are close to 20 Dragonfly Trimarans in the UAE area. The owner´s have a very strong community with many social activities.

Great to see and thank you to Xavier, Team Tan and the fantastic group of owners we met there.

A Big Thank You
To our dealers, partners, suppliers, and the entire Dragonfly team – thank you for your hard work and dedication. And to all Dragonfly owners, families, and crews: you are our best ambassadors. We couldn’t do this without you!
Team Dragonfly wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Here’s to an amazing 2026 season.

Warm regards,
Jens Quorning
